Turn down the temperature on your water heater.
The Department of Energy recommends that your hot water heater be at 120 degrees. Any hotter than that, and there is a risk of scalding.
Check your water heater as most are set on a default setting of 140 degrees.
Turning the temperature down on the water heater will save a little money and the water will take a shorter time to heat up. If it does not seem hot enough at 120 degrees, then try turning it up just a bit more until it is the temperature you desire. If you have kiddos that use the sink alone, consider keeping it at 120 degrees for their safety.
