This is another film I watched on Netflix at my daughter’s urging. Now I see why she wanted me to watch it.
It is a documentary about animal agriculture and its effect on the planet. I can honestly say I have never thought about the animal industry as much as I have in the last week!
The toll that the animal, egg, fish, and dairy industry has on the planet is just staggering and really makes me think about what direction the earth and its inhabitants are headed in if we keep eating from and supporting these industries like we do- me included.
I was unaware of how much water and land these industries use and the amount of gases they put into the atmosphere. I have never loved the thought of killing animals for food, but have also believed that God gave us these animals to use. It is the blatant mistreatment and overuse of these animals that has gotten out of control because we are trying to feed the constant growing population while companies are wanting to continue to make large profits.
There is a ton of information in this documentary- way too much to comment on, but I heard a quote from Howard Lyman that really resonated with me- “Do what you can do, as well as you can do it, everyday of your life.”
After watching this documentary, it seems there is quite a lot one person can do.
