Keep a pitcher of cold water in the refrigerator.
Have you ever gone to the sink to get a drink of water and the water is warm and takes forever to get cold?
This is why I keep small pitchers of water in the fridge at all times. When I need a drink or the little kiddos need a drink , I do not need to wait for the water to get cold. I can just get the pitcher out of the fridge, pour out the cold water, and refill it for next time.
Some of us get water out of our refrigerator water system. I like this too, as it is filtered water, but have you ever noticed how slow it is? It takes forever to fill up a glass of water with that small stream of water! Having a pitcher of water helps alleviate this problem as well.
My pitchers of water really came in handy when I had to turn the water off for a plumber’s visit. You know the kiddos don’t need something until they think they can’t have it! They are also great to have around when there is a water problem in the neighborhood, and you can’t use your water for a while or you have to boil it before using. Luckily, the latter has not happened to me, but I have heard of it happening in nearby areas.
Whatever your reason, if you have a pitcher on standby, you will be saving unnecessary water from going down the drain. It will also be that much easier to get your daily water intake goals met!
