Recycle or reuse newspaper.
I do not know how many people still receive daily newspapers, but if you do, they can pile up quickly! I only receive the weekly grocery ads now, but I still find those on my desk periodically when I have not had time to go through them.
The grocery ads are a great way to get kids involved in the grocery shopping! They can cut out pictures of things they want or of things that are on your shopping list. Then, when you get to the store, give them the pictures, and they can help you look for the items. It keeps them busy and they feel like they have a say in what you are buying.
If you receive the Sunday paper, the comics make great wrapping paper! If you don’t, the regular paper could be used as packing material if you need some or you could give it to someone you know that is moving.
If you enjoy using a fire pit or using your fireplace in the winter, newspaper makes a great fire starter. Just watch out for flying paper ashes, so I would not use it outside if it is too windy.
Of course, newspaper can be recycled, so that is always an easy option if you can not find a way to reuse it.
