Donate money to a good cause.
There are so many great organizations that need monetary donations.
These donations drive the organization to help the most people it can. If the organization is not using the donations for this purpose, it might be time to donate to another one.
I am very conscious of where I spend my money. I have a large calendar where I chart all my bills each month, so I never miss a payment. Included on this calendar are the organizations I choose to give my money to each month. Because of my love for children, Compassion is one of my monthly donations. I have been a part of their organization for many years.
I believe finding an organization to donate to should be aligned with things you are passionate about or things that honor you or someone you love. This is why many people donate to their church. If you have lost someone to a disease, you are more apt to donate to an organization that researches that disease. If you had a great college experience, you might decide to donate to that college after you graduate. There are endless places to donate your money.
When you find an organization that resonates with you, it makes it very pleasant when that money comes out of the bank. It is not seen as another “bill” to pay. You know you are actively doing something to make something better. You are touching another life in a positive way.
I wish I had endless money to donate, but most of us don’t, so think wisely about where your money goes. Feel free to pick an amount and share it between many organizations. Any amount you give is helpful to them, even if they ask for a large sum, and you can only provide a little. I like to give to the veterans and other organizations that send the free mailing labels to my home. I may only send them $5, but if everyone that received them sent that much in, that would amount to a lot! It saves me from buying a name stamp or my own labels, so it helps me out.
There are some great online giving communities as well. GoFundMe is very popular. The stories on that platform can be very inspiring, and same as the labels, even chipping in $5 can be beneficial when added to others donations.
I know right now people are probably holding their money a little tighter, but once this pandemic subsides, think about how grateful you are and how grateful others would be for your donations.
Happy donating!
