Day 82- Relax

Posted on March 22, 2020May 25, 2020

Take a breath and relax. In this time of craziness, I think it is important to take a minute for ourselves each day. Take a deep breath. Tell yourself it is going to be okay. Our days going forward will consist of stress we have not experienced before. Being cooped ( more… )

Day 81- Be Thankful

Posted on March 22, 2020May 25, 2020

Be thankful for all those that are working for your health. I live in the KC area, and we are put on mandatory lockdown starting Tuesday morning. We had already been told to work from home if you could and to stay home as much as possible, so it is ( more… )

Day 80- Nails

Posted on March 21, 2020March 29, 2020

Use environmentally friendly nail polish and polish remover. I love having my nails done. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted long painted nails. Not ghoulishly long- just manicured long nails. My friend and I used to wrap clear tape on our nails and paint them ( more… )

Day 79- Clean water

Posted on March 21, 2020May 25, 2020

Keep our water clean. Normally, I am so OCD about this. I use Norwex® cloths instead of chemicals to clean my house. If I do use cleaners, they are environmentally friendly. Now with this virus, I have started using bleach and water to sanitize all the toys in my daycare. ( more… )

Day 78- Positivity

Posted on March 19, 2020May 25, 2020

Stay positive. In these stressful times, it is easy to complain about how things are going or decisions that are being made. How you feel is probably how everyone feels right now. No one person has all the answers and knows what to do. I have to laugh when they ( more… )

Day 77- Air Pollution

Posted on March 17, 2020May 25, 2020

Don’t contribute to air pollution. I was watching the news about COVID-19, and they showed some graphics on China’s air pollution from month to month this year. Because of the virus, many factories have been shut down, so the pollution in the air has decreased dramatically. It is amazing to ( more… )

Day 76- Shower Heads

Posted on March 16, 2020May 25, 2020

Use a low-flow shower head. The easiest way to maintain the pressure of your shower, but also cut down on the amount of water you use, is to purchase an aerating low-flow showerhead. The aerator in the shower head mixes air with the water which is what maintains the pressure. ( more… )

Day 75- Toilets

Posted on March 16, 2020May 25, 2020

Upgrade your toilets. Understand that I am not saying you should replace all the toilets in your home right now, but when it comes time to replace one, there are some great eco-friendly options available. I have four toilets in my house. Three of them are low-flow. We purchased the ( more… )

Day 74- Microwave vs. Oven

Posted on March 16, 2020May 25, 2020

Use a microwave instead of an oven. Almost everyone has a microwave in their home. Whenever possible, choose to use this instead of using your gas or electric oven. Microwave ovens have better cooking efficiency than gas or electric ovens, because they heat from the inside-out versus from the outside-in. ( more… )

Day 73- Selfish vs. Selfless

Posted on March 15, 2020May 25, 2020

Be selfless instead of selfish. In this time of panic, wondering what the COVID-19 virus has in store for the US, some people have had a tendency to think only of themselves. There are people hoarding toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, and hand sanitizer. They are saving them up for themselves ( more… )
