Day 92- Carpooling

Posted on April 2, 2020May 25, 2020

Carpool. This seems like a no-brainer, but I think so many people want to be in control of their day, that this gets put to the wayside. Last school year, our county adopted a share ride service that allowed community college students to get picked up at their house and ( more… )

Day 91- Donations

Posted on March 31, 2020May 25, 2020

Donate money to a good cause. There are so many great organizations that need monetary donations. These donations drive the organization to help the most people it can. If the organization is not using the donations for this purpose, it might be time to donate to another one. I am ( more… )

Day 90- Little Free Library

Posted on March 31, 2020May 25, 2020

Start or donate to a little free library. I saw one of these the other day when I was driving around trying to get out of the house for a bit. I did not know it was there beforehand. But, what a great idea it is! I would love to ( more… )

Day 89- Wasted Food

Posted on March 29, 2020May 25, 2020

Buy imperfect foods. Grocery stores throw away 43 billion pounds of food each year. (dumpsters.com) To help with this statistic, there are a couple of companies that sell “imperfect” foods through a subscription service. One of these companies, Imperfect Produce, has saved 900 million gallons of water and 30 million ( more… )

Day 88- Sweatshops

Posted on March 29, 2020May 25, 2020

Do not support sweatshops. About a year ago, my daughter wanted to order a bunch of cute clothes online. They were very reasonably priced, so I was excited! However, when I researched the company, I found it was an overseas company that did not treat its employees well. That was ( more… )

Day 87- GMO vs Non-GMO

Posted on March 29, 2020May 25, 2020

Choose Non-GMO foods. GMO is an acronym for genetically modified organisms. In a nutshell, this means that something is engineered in a lab and added to a food to make it look, taste, or appear better in some way. These results can not be achieved by cross-breeding foods naturally. It ( more… )

Day 86- Hair Brushes

Posted on March 28, 2020May 25, 2020

Use a bamboo hair brush. This is something I am going to switch to this year. I love the brush I already use, but all parts of it are plastic. This would be a better choice for the environment. Bamboo is natural and will break down in the environment naturally. ( more… )

Day 85- Cups

Posted on March 28, 2020May 25, 2020

Use the same cup all day. I don’t know about your household, but it seems ever since the kids have been home from school, there are tons of extra glasses in the dishwasher every day. This is besides the many reusable water bottles and cups they have in their bedrooms. ( more… )

Day 84- Happiness

Posted on March 25, 2020May 25, 2020

Do what makes you happy. Life is short. Life is stressful- I think we can all agree with that right now. In this time of craziness, contemplate what makes you happy. Are you enjoying having more time with your kiddos if you are stuck at home right now? Or are ( more… )

Day 83- Help!

Posted on March 23, 2020May 25, 2020

Ask for help. At this time, more than any other, many people may need assistance. It might be financial, it might be physical, or it might be emotional- or it might be all three! Hopefully, the government will help us with the financial piece. I am a very positive person. ( more… )
