Day 161- Going plastic-free

Posted on July 2, 2020July 2, 2020

I received an email the other day from a company letting me know about their plastic-free initiative. Grove is a company that I purchase from monthly. I have a member subscription plan that allows me to get free shipping and free gifts each month with my order. They produce and ( more… )

The Ocean Cleanup is making an impact on the Pacific Garbage Patch! I am so excited to hear that they will soon be making products with plastic they have taken from this area! If you are interested in purchasing one, you can make a donation here: https://products.theoceancleanup.com/

Day 156- Round up

Posted on June 30, 2020June 30, 2020

Round up your purchases. A while back ago, when businesses were in full swing, a restaurant I visited asked me at checkout if I wanted to round up my purchase to benefit a charity. I can not remember what charity it was, but I did round it up to the ( more… )

Day 159- Shredded paper

Posted on June 29, 2020June 29, 2020

What can you do with shredded paper? It is important to shred documents that have personal information on them, but what do we do with all that paper once it is shredded? Unfortunately, it can not be thrown into our recycle bins. The paper is too small once it is ( more… )

Day 158- Reusable in the community

Posted on June 28, 2020June 28, 2020

Purchase the reusable cups for restaurants, gas stations, coffee shops, etc. in the community. I remember when Fazolis™ switched from single-use tableware to reusable and washable tableware. I was so impressed that they made that decision and praised them for it. Many places in the community offer reusable cups that ( more… )

Day 155- Favorite bamboo toothbrush

Posted on June 14, 2020June 26, 2020

Bamboo toothbrushes are the best! This is the second bamboo toothbrush I have tried. It is now the one I will use going forward. I ordered this brush when I bought my Bite toothpaste bits. Of course, I loved the fact that it was a bamboo toothbrush and avoids the ( more… )

Day 154- Schmidt’s bar soap

Posted on June 14, 2020June 26, 2020

Use all natural bar soap. The same company that makes my favorite vegan deodorant makes this bar soap. I ordered it at the same time to try it out. I have been using this for a couple weeks now. I think the smell is mild, but noticeable. The soap lathers ( more… )

Day 153- Reusable Paper Towels

Posted on June 14, 2020June 26, 2020

If you use paper towels, use reusable bamboo paper towels. I am not a fan of all the paper products out there and actively look for ways to avoid them. However, there are just some you can not avoid. In my daycare, we use washcloths for napkins. We use washable ( more… )

Day 152- Bite Toothpaste Bits

Posted on June 14, 2020June 26, 2020

Use Bite toothpaste bits. I think I first saw these on a Facebook ad. Because I am wanting to go plastic-free in 2020, I thought this was a great way to get rid of toothpaste tubes. I first tried these when I was at the lake at a ladies weekend. ( more… )

Day 151- Schmidt’s natural deodorant

Posted on June 14, 2020June 26, 2020

One of the necessities of life once you hit puberty is deodorant. I have tried many kinds over the years, but now, since I am vegan, I have had to look even closer at the deodorant I use. For years, I have made sure to use deodorant or antiperspirant that ( more… )
