Use reusable lunch bags.

Although paper bags are recyclable, the best choice when you need to pack your lunch is a reusable lunch bag. If you use reusable containers inside as well, then you are golden!

When I was researching the impact paper bags have on the environment, I was surprised to read that they are not much better than plastic. Here is some information that I discovered from reusethisbag.com:

Paper bags take up more room in the landfill. This makes sense seeing as how plastic can be crumbled up very small.

It takes more energy to make a paper bag than a plastic bag. We know they are made from trees which is a resource we can not continue to use at the rate we are! It also takes more energy to recycle the paper bags.

Paper bags generate more water and air pollutants than plastic bags.

We know already the havoc plastic bags wreak on the environment. Now, we know that paper bags aren’t really any better. So, the best way to handle this problem is to use reusable bags in place of both plastic and paper bags.
