Dispose of medicine bottles and unused medicine safely.

It would be great if you could just throw your empty pill bottles in the recycle bin, but in my city, we can not put them in our curbside bins. So, I have to find another option to dispose of them. I have reached out to my local recycling group to see where I can dispose of them and am waiting to hear back.

If there is unused medication in the bottles, I can drop them off at a nearby police station or take them to my local CVS, where I can place them in a postage paid envelope and send them to a facility where they will dispose of them safely. Here is a site that can direct you to a place that you can safely dispose of your unused medications: https://safe.pharmacy/drug-disposal/

It is best to avoid throwing unused pills into the trash, as they could find their way into the soil or water system. However, if you have no other option available, put the pills into coffee grounds or cat litter or something undesirable. Also, place them in something they can not leach out of, like a hard plastic item or a can.
