Use disinfectant properly.

In this time of obsessive disinfection, we need to make sure that we are disinfecting properly.

In the daycare, I use bleach water to spray toys and the mats each day. The solution has to stay wet until it dries to be most effective. So, at the end of the day, I go around and spray all the toys and surfaces and let them dry overnight.

Make sure that you are mixing the solution you use as directed by the bottle directions. Allow it to dry for the time the directions state on the bottle.

A lot of the disinfectants used out there are not great for the environment or our bodies, but are being used right now to ensure virus control. I do not usually use bleach, but a more environmentally friendly option, but right now that is what is easiest and fastest for disinfection of all the toys. Once this virus is under control, I will go back to using a more eco-friendly option.

Happy sanitizing!
