Day 161- Going plastic-free

I received an email the other day from a company letting me know about their plastic-free initiative.

Grove is a company that I purchase from monthly. I have a member subscription plan that allows me to get free shipping and free gifts each month with my order. They produce and sell cleaning and health and beauty products that are more eco-friendly than you might find at a typical store.

Starting in 2020, they have begun the process of becoming plastic-free by 2025. Since I would also like to become plastic-free, I am anxious to see the new packaging and ideas they come up with.

Right now, they are plastic neutral which means that they recycle one ounce of plastic from the waste stream for every one ounce of plastic they make or sell. So far, they have recycled 450,000 lbs!

This phase will evolve into phase two when they will be completely plastic-free.

If you are looking for an eco-company to support, this would be a great company to check out. I have not heard of any other companies making this kind of commitment of sustainability.

I am anxious to see what the next four and a half years will bring!
