Do Something Kind.

This picture reminds me of all the animals that are being rescued right now from the bushfires in Australia.

We may not be able to fly to Australia to help those in need right now, but I bet there is something you can do in your community that is kind towards an animal or a person.

Everything we do has an impact on someone or something. It is in OUR power to make our choices either benefit or hurt others. Choosing to do things that help others benefits us all and makes the world a better place to live in. I believe it also can cause a chain reaction of kindness. When someone does something nice for us, it puts us in a good mood, and we want to show that same kindness towards others. So, we pay it forward.

I just finished watching the movie “Dinner for Schmucks” with my son. It is on Netflix™ if you have not seen it. Maybe this is what spurred me to write this post about kindness. I always root for the underdog. I hate to see people treated unkindly. This movie is all about that. If you are a Steve Carell fan or a Paul Rudd fan, you will appreciate it. Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it.

I believe you can do something good for another person or creature every day. It does not have to be a grandiose gesture. It could be opening the door for another person or helping someone clean up a mess they made. Not too long ago, I heard stories about people paying for the next customers food in the drive-thru lane. I love to hear stories like that!

Tomorrow, try to make a point of doing something nice for someone. To make it a little difficult, maybe even try to do something nice for a person you don’t know. It is easy to do nice things for the people you live with, so try to branch out to others and think outside the box.

I would love to hear what kind things you do, so comment below. Your ideas might be contagious and get paid forward by other readers. I will add some ideas throughout the year as well.

I hope 2020 is your kindest year yet- to yourself, to others around you, and to the planet!
