Use a low-flow shower head.

The easiest way to maintain the pressure of your shower, but also cut down on the amount of water you use, is to purchase an aerating low-flow showerhead.

The aerator in the shower head mixes air with the water which is what maintains the pressure. No one likes to lose their water pressure, but everyone loves to save water because that will decrease your water bill amount.

The rain showers that are so popular have become more eco-friendly as well. You would think since they are so much bigger that they would waste so much more water, but they are actually more energy efficient than before. They use only 2.5 gallons per minute now, instead of the 5.5 gallons they used to use. (angieslist.com) The problem with them is that they may not have the same amount of pressure than a typical shower head. Make sure to research this if you are looking for a high pressure shower head.

If you want to try something new- check out some of these eco-friendly options:

Whenever your shower head becomes less than ideal, consider a more eco-friendly version. There are lots available, so research what will work best for you.
